All goods coming into New Zealand must first transit through an MPI approved transitional facility where the goods gain bio-security clearance to enter New Zealand. Also all containers entering NZ must be unpacked and by a trained and accredited person who has been appointed a position of authority by MPI to unpack containers and handle uncleared cargo through the clearance transition.
