- Ensure that your caravan’s fuel tank is filled to no more than one-quarter capacity, as it will not be shipped with a greater amount.
- Be certain to disconnect the battery from your vehicle.
- Remove all fire extinguishers.
- Take out any gas bottles.
- Clear your motorhome or caravan of any remaining food items.
- Thoroughly clean both the interior and exterior of your vehicle, paying special attention to the wheel arches and awnings. The New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MAF) will inspect for dirt, leaves, and plant materials.
- Inform us if you have any inner cargo, such as golf clubs, a suitcase of clothes, or bottles of alcohol. Whenever possible, try to minimise inner cargo, as it can increase both costs and clearance times.
- For security purposes, remove all electronics and either secure them inside your vehicle or arrange for them to be couriered to your delivery point.
- We strongly recommend obtaining Marine Insurance, and we offer comprehensive insurance packages that cover your shipment from origin pickup to destination drop-off. Remember to capture close-up photos of every side of your caravan or motorhome, both internally and externally, for your records.
